Junior Achievement

Financial Literacy, Work Readiness & Entrepreneurship

Junior Achievement (JA) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to succeed in a global economy.

Through hands-on programs in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship, JA helps students from elementary through high school gain practical skills and insights into the world of business.

By connecting students with mentors and real-world learning experiences such as job shadow days, Junior Achievement fosters a new generation of informed, resilient, and capable future leaders.

Delivering more than 17 million student experiences each year in over 100 countries, JA Worldwide is one of few organizations with the scale, experience, and passion to build a brighter future for the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders. The impact of our real-world training extends beyond individual students.

For over 100 years, JA has operated all over the world—including in refugee camps, countries wracked by war and violence, and areas of extreme poverty. By helping youth develop the employment and entrepreneurial tools to find meaningful work and start sustainable companies, JA serves as a conduit for peace and prosperity. Through JA, young people are equipped with the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities.

Whitney Vauvelle’s story with Junior Achievement

Whitney began her journey with Junior Achievement as a high school student in Louisville, Kentucky when she participated in a stock market challenge course, and she loved it. This led her to teach the JA Community course to second graders, helping young students learn about essential concepts in finance and community engagement.

Junior Achievement Argentina became a client of Americas Business Link, and she led fundraising and business development initiatives with American corporations such as PWC and P&G in Argentina.

Her favorite event is Job Shadow Day and she loved how teams of high school students created their own businesses and competed to sell baseball caps.
